I agree with those who set it up to 'see' the pattern once it's folded back.... plus.... if there was lace or crochet edging on the sheet, you'd turn it the same way... here's one website that says it's 'our' way, too!...

You are both right! It depends on how you want your bed to look when it's made. Do you turn down the sheet and blanket when your bed is made? If so then put the print side down, so the printed sheet edge will show best. If you pull the sheets all the way up to the head of the bed flat, then the printed side should face up.

You are correct. The top sheet is always placed on the bed face down or printed side down, so that when (and this is the part your husband isn't understanding) you fold the top edge of the top sheet over the edge of your comforter or blanket(s), the printed side comes up again with the nice hem or border edge facing up as well! Fitted sheet is print side up, Top sheet, print side down. Guys are so easily confused, God love 'em.

I have to agree with your husband on this one,
Sheet patterns are made for when you look at them after you made the bed you see the design not from inside the covers, Plus most top sheets have hems just like on clothes the hem is to the inside.
I hope I have finally settled this round for you guys, Now you both can get back to the one Which came first the chicken or the egg that one is still in debate around the world. ( Ha Ha )

Both sides face your body; so when you fold back the top sheet it is showing the design .at the fold
Having looked at beds in display homes for over twenty years.Cleaned display homes that long.
That is how all the decorators do it.

We have the same disagreement at our house! I agree with your husband tho! When you are in bed....you are asleep, not enjoying the print on your sheets. Aesthetically, the print should face out so when you are awake you see the print!

You are right, the printed side ALWAYS goes down so when you fold it back you see the pattern.
