Its big news because of the magnitude of the achievment but it wasn't as big as it would have been had Ken Griffy Jr. broken it or anyone else. Bonds' attitude and personality had alot to do with how the media and fans treat him even without the steroid factor. Even if you don't like Bonds as a person or player he still has to be considered one of the finest home run hitters of all time.

Yeah, well, too many people want to see it. I haven't followed the story well enough to make an informed hypothesis on his steriod use. But I do get the feeling this record is tainted. However, I don't really care about records that much anyway. So chalk me up for the "Don't Care" column.

Go Red Sox!

Nobody likes a cheater. I can't prove that Bonds did (or does) steroids, but the evidence is very compelling.

Unfortunately there are people who are waaaayy too obsessed with sports these days. It's just a game. It's a game in which there is far too much money.

I really don't feel the record has been broken, because of the steroid thing. But baseball is desperate for some publicity to get folks excited about going to the games again. So they're going to get as much mileage out of it as they can.

Longer season, more games, more drugs, heck if the Hall of Famers had all that, they'd have a record Bonds couldn't have reached any day. But they didn't and he did and guess what? Only people who give crap about baseball care and quite frankly I don't.

Hank Aaron will always be the home run king for me. I have no wish to give Bonds that honor. He did it illegally. It shouldn't count. Oh and just in case you are wondering, I'm black. Just call me "not a fan of Bonds".

Perhaps they should just let all of the players bring a batting machine out onto the field and see how many records they can break !

No kidding. I am about 3/4's past tired of it. if he had been able to achieve that goal without Steroids, it might be different.
Besides, I heard he is an ***.

Yeah, I agree its not like he's even in the same "ballpark" with the "Babe" or "Hammerin' Hank" You know if he wasn't juiced, this wouldn't even be happening! That's my story and I'm stickin to it!! Have a GREAT DAY!
