porno avatar, they are getting reported, also... by SEVERAL people... regardless if it is showing disgust?

here is what i saw yesterday:

Message: why is the team reporting EVERYONE who replies to the porn posters?

trolls thrive on the attention they receive from other users, whether it's "EWWW THAT"S GROSS" from some teen girl or "GO F*** yourself" from another user or a polite "please go away!" the concept is that IF YOU POST TO A FILTHY Q OR AVATAR, WE VIOLATE EVERY LAST ANSWERER.
when we get this message out to the masses that even the innocent get reported, the answerswill become fewer and fewer, thus depriving the trolls of the attention they so badly crave. it's most unfortunate that this measure is being taken to
deal with the situation but all other methods have failed, whereas this one is beginning to have a large effect.
there are 50 plus patrol members to date w/ others coming aboard daily.
UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT: ANSWER A PERV OR A PORN AVATAR, GET REPORTED!

i have always reported & ignored, but i hate to see others that let their emotions fly off the handle (in disgust) get reported.
let's just go with the flow on this one, and be rid of these trolls, so we can get back to business here in P&S.

hugs to all! (except Pervs)

i see you didn't read the WHOLE question, because

I am NOT the one reporting innocent people.

but you just did.

were you looking for a position in Animal Farm?

i was only trying to help people
AVOID being reported
- so thanks.

Woooow, thanks for the info, Amaris! I didn't know that! Thanks for looking out for us! (Why don't people read the details before stepping up on their soapboxes and looking foolish to those of us who did?)

First responding to any trolling question that is designed to shock or disgust, does encourage them. That is the only point I agree with these people. The "Troll Patrol" person and or person is not much better than the porn trolls.
Two it is a lie I tested this idea and respond with very simple admonitions against the porn trolls and did not receive a violation despite having several thumbs down that indicated I had been reported.

BEING REPORTED DOES NOT EQUAL A VIOLATION
the report flag is only a suggestion it is up to Y!A staff who gets a violation

hey i didn't know that! thanks for the info and trying to keep us outta trouble amaris. i'll be honest and say i could care less on what people post on here. although i have come to notice that some people, we'll call them jerks, have no respect about themselves or others. postings like this for ex: "i just F***ed my sister what do i do?" but honestly i'm not offended easily nor do i respond to the vulgarity. do what you will and do what you think is right. there are younger kids on here and its something that they shouldn't be able to see, at least when i was younger i would not be allowed on here again if my parents saw some of this. enough rambling. thank you for your input amaris i hope everyone on here understands what you are doing and we'll see how it goes. let the trolling perverted porn people shrivil up when they get no attention cuz they aren't getting it from me.

Great info - This is an issue that needs to be addressed. I for my part choose to report and completely ignore the questions. Where there is no fuel the fire goes out. :)

what censorship on the internet isnt that like going against all that is good about it freedom do see and say what you want. and just in case you want to report me for having a free mind i am not one of the attention whores you speak of however who are they really hurting if you dont like someones question just dont answer it.

Why do you report people? That is similar to a 3rd grader being a tattle tail... You would think people are grown up enough to be responsible. Nobody is forced to read any question on here, and if you see one you think might have objectionable material inside, don't read on... if you do read a question and find something that offends you.. click that back button and voila you don't have to read it! Just because it offends you does not mean it offends everyone. Reporting people seems to be the lowest form of intelligence in my opinion. Grow up, move on and don't read it. First amendment baby, FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

Additionally-- You realize all you do by reporting and getting accounts suspended is motivate people to be more vulgar? It is not very hard to make a new account and come back with a even larger desire to be obscene and upset the children who report people instead of having the sense to not read a question/answer.

in some ways i agree with you, but the thing is that this is a public forum. have you ever heard of free speech? i don't see how anyone put you or anybody else in charge of cleaning up yahoo. i don't like the things you don't like either, but live and let live. we are all just fellow human beings. nobody is in charge of anothers taste or words. this is assuming we are not talking about predetors of children of course. other than that, just who do you think that you are???????????????????

Thanks for letting me know. I would rather not get reported though since I share this account and if I get reported my friend will find it weird. [as would I]
