Hey 51,

Yes, People who will do anything to get ahead cheapen the sports they should be proudly representing.

We've just had the travesty of the Tour de France, where the media frenzy over the two or three "dopers" overshadowed the accomplishments of the 80 or more clean riders who also spent 5 hours a day slogging up and down mountains.

I say name and shame these people.

No. If they can't prove he did anything wrong, it's a record. If they prove he cheated, Aaron still holds the record. No asterisk needed.

The single season record will probably last a lot longer than the career record. If A-Rod doesn't beat Bonds, somebody like Pujols will.

Absolutely, as should Mark Maguire, Rafael Palmiero, Sammy Sosa, Jose Canseco.

No, that's silly.
If Selig hasn't thought enough of the fans to do something about it, why should the fans be involved.

Do you refer to the commissioner as Bud Selig*

Plus, it's not all the commissioner's fault and it's almost no fault of Bonds.
It's actually your fault. So, you should step up to the plate and admit it's your fault that there are steroids in baseball.

Fans want their team to win, putting pressure on their home town's owner to compete
Owners think that the way to win is to hit home runs
there is competiton to sign home run hitters
Home run hitters get paid a lot of money
players are now encouraged to be home run hitters so they can make millions of dollars
they pump iron, they pump drugs to get that.
Fans are happy.

See, it's obviously your fault that the record was broken by way of steroids. I also take responsibility for it.

Aren't the Barry haters going to riot or commit suicide? I'd love to see it happen and all of them get life threatening injuries. Face it, they are all cowards, talk a big game but can't back their words up..... The new record is set and the haters can't do anything about it!

Dumb question.....

Should any of the World Series that were won by teams with players 'roided out have asterisks next to them?

Only if you put an asterisk next to all the records made when baseball was segregated.

*"segregated stat, whites only induced record, not officially made under full rules of competition. "

That would be politically incorrect. They do not have a asterisk on the single season record. He will not hold it for long. Arod will pass him in five years (if he is healthy).

If not Arod, there will be some one else soon.

What's the big deal? Put a question mark by his name. Baseball is fixed anyway. The ball he hit sure wasn't thrown 95 mph. I guess if it was thrown underhand it would have been to obvious.
