I know this may be a silly Q but i saw a Q on here and someone put that pregnancy weight is diffrent to getting fat.

How?

Because at first it is mostly fluid, and then baby weight. With those two you should gain about 18 - 20 pounds. That will all go away after the birth. If you gain more than that, you are gaining your own body fat - like normal weight gain, and you will not lose that with the birth.

Pregnancy weight includes the weight of the baby. The weight of the placenta, the extra blood you carry and the extra fluid you carry. Plus it includes some extra fat too.

because its the baby gaining weight. Not really you gaining weight. Like yea you put on some fat and gain weight yourself. But its the baby growing and getting big. Not you.

when you are pregnant your body will naturally lay down fat stores in case of famine, this is so when baby is born you have fat reserves to use for breast milk. if you dont stuff your face nor starve yourself weight gain will be average and should fall off after delivery xxxx

your gaining the weight of a baby, extra blood flow to the baby, the placenta, the enlarged uterus, the amniotic fluid, extra blood tissue. not just fat from eating to many twinkies.
