Using a measuring tape (not being funny!) measure round your rib cage (immediately under your bust - this gives you your BRA size.To find your CUP size - wear your best-fitting bra and measure around the fullest part of your bust. Get a friend to help you take your measurements - it'll be a lot more accurate!
I went to Marks & Spencer for a fitting. It's not at all embarrassing because you're still wearing your own bra when the lady measures you. Good luck to you anyway!
Edit: PANAMA: I'm more amazed at guys who give advice on measuring and haven't a clue how to do it!
Edit 2: Coach T - Agreed - but then the guys know exactly what they are doing! I wore the wrong bra size for years - and couldn't understand why my bra was always slipping up my back and boobs falling out at the top. I was wearing size 42 when it should have been 38 with a bigger cup size.

Take a measuring tape and run it around your breast area across the nipple area around the back to the front again. This will give you your bra size like 36, 38, 40.
The cup size you will have to guess or try on bras at the store.
Remember to wear your bra properly. The back of your bra should run around the same line as where your nipples are. If the back strap is higher the bra will be uncomfortable. Your breast will pull down againt the back and the bra straps pull into the shoulders. Very, very important.
I am a guy and totally amazed that women and women working in the stores do not know how a bra really should be worn. It's so important, particularly for women with large breasts.
Good luck with your search. Amazing what a guy can learn if he only listens. LOL

I wonder why when someone says they don't want to go get measured, that everyone suggests they go get measured (scratches head)
It's easy to measure yourself and calculate and doesn't usually require a professional
While wearing your best fitting bra
measure the fullest part of your breasts
then measure directly under your breast
If the directly under number is even add 4 to it, if odd then add 5. This is your band size like 38.
Now take the number that was your fullest bust and subtract the band size from it. This should be a number between 0-6 and if you're a B it's a 2
0=AA
1=A
2=B
3=C
4=D
5=DD/E
6=EE/F
etc...
It really is that simple. If you want to confirm the band size, measure under your arms and above your breasts. That number should be very close to the number from your band size.
add: NANCY -- while Panama may be off a bit, some guys work in the lingerie business and know better about this than the average woman. They say that more than 80% of women are wearing the wrong size bra....

Wear a bra when you're measuring: using a tape, measure around your chest below your bust, and record the number. Next, measure around your chest at the fullest part of your bust, and record THAT number.
You should add 5 to both numbers; the chest measurement is now your band size (if it's an odd number, add 1). Subtract the bust measurement from the chest measurement. If it's a 1 inch difference, you are an A cup. If it's 2 inches, a B, and so on.
Good luck!

1. Measure very snugly around your rib cage, just underneath your breasts. It should feel tight. Be sure that the tape measure lies straight all the way around.
Add 5" to your rib cage measurement, then round to the nearest even number. The result is your bra size or band measurement.
2. Measure loosely around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape measure straight all the way around your body. Round this measurement to the nearest whole number.
3. Subtract your bra size (band measurement) in step 1 from the bust measurement in step 2.
The difference between the two determines your cup size. It can be difficult to measure yourself, the process itself is not an exact science. If you have trouble and think you are not getting your correct size, get professionally fitted. Many major department stores have professionals trained to fit and size on staff.

Don't go to a big department store. I shop at small boutiques and get this done very discreetly. I have bigger boobs than average, and still have the same problem. I hate to shop and try them on. The smaller stores usually have one or two ladies working there, and they carry the best brands for every size. I took my 16 yr old in there and she's about your size, and they have everything from push ups to plunges, sports and seamless bras. Google intimates, and lingerie in your city, and find one near you. you'll love the personal touch they give.

Go to a high end department store such as Saks or Nordstrom, or go to Victorias Secret and get measures. Victorias Secret will measure you in the fitting room if you would like and they have boxes of bras in every size for you to try back there too.

Go to www.figleaves.com.. they have an online bra calculater.. You just need a tape measure to work it out.
Dont be embarrassed though. The ladies at the stores have seen it all before and once you have been fitted you will feel so much better. I was amazed when i was fitted last. My posture and shape was so much better!

When you get a new bra fitted you dont have to take our old one off so nothing to be embarressed about :) I got mine measured in M&S about 3 years ago (actually, must go again!) and the lady was really helpful, made me feel very comfortable. Go on, get to the shop! :) Good luck xx

Go and get measured.
You don't have to get undressed if you don't want and they are very professional and discreet, and it's done in a changing room where noone else can see.
Surely that must be better than your 'boobs falling out' - that has to be far more embarrasing!
