I watched the game last night between the Giants and the Nationals and after Bonds hit his home run and I really felt happy for the guy. I wished we would have also thanked the Pittsburgh fans since this is the team where he started his career and blasted 176 home runs wearing the uniform. Despite of the steroids scandals, he is an exceptional batter amongst the greatest hitters in baseball. I feel privileged to have been first hand witness of his entire career, even if he left Pittsburgh.
This is not really a question but I would like to know how you guys weigh things up.

Cheers.

Bobby Bonds is the best. Hopefully, baseball will recognize it.

Im happy for him. He worked hard for it. Even though I believe that he probably took some steroids he still has a lot of talent. Hes 43 and hes still blastin homers! I mean u gotta have talent to hit homers, steroids wont get u 756 homers if u have no talent. I bet u if i take steroids and play in the MLB I wont hit 756 homers, u gotta have talent at playing baseball (which I dont have). Yea FOOTBALL and BASKETBALL!! So the way I see it the guy deserves to be a first ballot half of famer and be recognized as the greatest home run hitter of all-time, well until A-Rod breaks it!

I hate him, but I'm happy for the guy. He accomplished something no other player has. He's had one of the greatest careers. Career .298 hitter, 14 all-star games, 7 MVPs, 8 Gold Gloves, 2 batting titles, led the league in walks 12 times, only member of the 500-500 club. Until it's proven that he took steroids, he's a first ballot hall of famer to me.

He is no Hank Aaron, and to have his name compared to Barry Bonds is shameful. He blasted 176 homeruns in Pittsburgh before steroids, and I'm sure if he would have stayed, it wouldn't have been an issue. This whole scandal with the steroids is the fault of the league, and no one elses. They didn't do something about it in the early 90s when everyone thought it was "okay" because baseball was losing fans, and then needed more homeruns. There's nothing you can do to change it, if he's found guilty, whoop-de-do, he'll get an asterisk by his name in the books... it's only a matter of time before A-Rod gets to that record, and I will celebrate like crazy when he does, because he deserves it.

No... it is humiliation piled on top of more humiliation. What a tool this guy is. He is arguably one of the worst commisioners in professional sports (the average fan with some common sense would make a better commisioner). I think he's just attending to pretend that everything is fine... he is certainly not enjoying the games (look at his expressions during the games). For his sake I hope the record is not broken anytime soon so that Selig would travel all over the country and get the reception he deserves from the real classy fans.

Lots of Bonds haters and A-Rod lovers out there. But, there are a few undeniable facts.

The ONLY member of the 500-500 club in history. No Babe, no Aaron, No A-Rod. He accomplished this in 1998, before he allegedly "juiced."

6 NL MVP awards. Anyone else in that same category? NOPE!

2,100 something hits in his career. He is sitting just behind Aaron.

More walks than any player in history and he still hits a HR on average every 9 ABs. He has incredible eye-hand coordination that is unmatched.

Now, I know you want to believe he took them. The media loves to have people talking about it. Go ahead, let the media shape your thinking. But the truth of the matter is nothing has been proven. NOTHING. Don't be a sheep. Until that comes be realistic. Let the man have his due. Last I heard people in the U.S. are innocent until proven guilty.
