That's what we get for taking away corporal punishment, put the paddles back in schools and at home! A kid will push to see how far he/she can go and that's 90% of the problems in schools and homes today!

Well some teachers deserve no respect, but the genuinely good teachers deserve it and when I see the punk kids completely disrespecting them it makes me feel bad for them, and that they should show some respect to the people trying to get them a life.

WE are no allowed as a society to discipline our children as we see appropriate ,each child has to be dealt with differently what works for one doesnt neccessarily work for the others. But they can call CPS on you for everything now, so we as parents are pretty well left to talk , and or yelling and being ignored. I also think there R alot more children that do not have parents that have time or that even care what there children are doing so they are not being taught the right way to act , so they r acting how they were treated growing up which is leaving them with out propr guidance and they have no Conscience.

You sound totally burned out... Yes there is some disrespect of students for teachers; however, I see more disrespect from classist, racist, incompetent and barely literate teachers who just don't give a damn about their students... Hey, I call them as I see them... (I work with many different programs in schools, etc...)

I feel sorry for them. They have not been taught some of the 1st lessons we learn in life. They will have a difficult time in society. Disrespect doesn't work when they get into the work force. Makes me wonder if they have respect even for them selves? very sad!

I hope to become a teacher but I hate it when other students disrespect my own. It's...awful. Why don't they realize teachers care and are there to offer help?

I think it makes the kid absolutely horrible. Not only do they make it hard for the teacher to teach but they also make the students around them have a hard time learning.

I think children who show lack of respect for their teachers or other authority figures also have lack of respect for their parents and for their selves . If something isn't done to reprimand them early, they will drop out of the school system, filter into the drug and crime on the streets, growing up to be angry adults .And , they'll eventually end up in prison or worse.

i think the teachers need to talk to them.
they have no respect because of whatever is
going on at home. Most of the time, they dont
even know what respect is because they have
not been taught by their parents. So the teacher
can try to talk to them and teach them how to behave
and how to be respectful.

They are ignorant. Teachers are there to help us, not to hurt us. I've had a few teachers who've had a great impact on me.
