before i start; i live in NJ. so if you still have most of your constitutional rights, cherish them...

the bill of rights is a bit misleading these days. you don't actually have all those rights as it states. so i took the time to adjust a few to be true. i won't write out the complete paragraphs, just what needs to be added or removed.

#1: Freedom of Speech, Press, Religion and Petition
-add: as long as it does not offend any minorities

#2: Right to bear arms
-add: as long as you meet the impossible requirements (mostly a NJ thing)

#4 Right of search and seizure regulated
-add: unless the goverment official "smells weed". (they always seem to smell weed, strange how that works)

#5 Provisons concerning prosecution
-remove this entire entry, patriot act anyone?

#6 Right to a speedy trial, witnesses, etc.
-anyone who has gone through the court system can comment on "speed". don't know what to do with this one. remove i guess.

now i am out of space.

The founding fathers envisioned an enlightened and active electorate, willing to fight for the rights granted in the constitution. We have become sheeple, giving up our rights to fight every new boogeyman that comes along.

I used to live in NJ and I agree it is scary that the people there actually support the erosion of their rights. The police state has not made it any safer than any other state where people still have rights.

#1: You can offend all you want and you're still protected. Look at groups like the KKK. Oh and they even protest which, as long as it's peaceful, is also protected.

#2: You can own a gun, you just can't carry it around with you. And as rude and nasty as most people are in NJ, that's a good thing.

#4: Stop smoking weed

#5: Neither you or anyone you've ever known have been affedted by the Patriot Act.

#6: No adjustment needed, except stop glogging up the system.

Remember, the Constitution protects against GOVT regulation and govt control -- not against what private people like or dislike.

Also, like or or not, under the current interpretation by the Supreme Court (going back over a century), the 2nd Amendment only applies to federal regulation, not state gun control laws.

And only most of #5 and #6 were removed by the Bush regime, and that was by other laws (not by the Patriot Act itself).

The Constitution of the United States is in need only of Acknowledgment and Adherence (although a bit of respect would be nice).
It is a document written to limit the effect of the darker aspects of human nature, until human nature changes the document needn't change.
I would profess that those who would call the Constitution a "living document" simply find that they are suffering the intended effect.
BTW... The government has no power to "grant' your rights. Your rights are your rights. The Constitution is intended to keep them safe from those who would usurp them.
