Edam Cheese Pregnancy

It's the soft, unpasturized cheeses that pose a risk, like blue cheese. Listerea may be present in them and can cause harm to the baby, however the biggest risk is in the first trimester.
I believe Edam is a harder cheese so nibble away!

it is fine to eat edam cheese any time in your pregnancy, the only cheese you should not eat in pregnancy is blue veined cheese as this can be harmful to your baby , any other hard cheese is fine.

No i'm sure Edam is fine, it's veiny blue cheese to wtch out for (and maybe soft cheese, but i can't remember??!) but no probs for edam - it makes great toasties!

I ate all sorts of cheese, pasteurized and not while pregnant. They didn't even sell pasteurized cheese until the mid 20th century.

As long as its fresh and eaten safely i dont see the harm in it.
