Being a OR Nurse I have to say that we are all special people. Nurses have to deal with alot of responsibility and are hard working. Its not easy working with people who are sick and also scared. Nurses are a big part of a patients recovery, no matter what type of nurse that you are. Not because I am one but props to all Nurses!!!

They say they want to be treated as professionals yet they act like line workers in a factory. "That's not my job." "I am calling the union" "I want to work 24 hours a week but get paid for 40" "I have to work too hard" "I have too much to do"
"There are so many problems here"
If you want to be a professional, act like one. Professionals to not punch a clock. They often work more than 40 hours a week and are not paid overtime. If there is a problem, they find a solution and don't whine about it.
It will be wonderful when the nursing shortage is resolved. The latest version of the Fair Labor Standards Act states that nurses are professionals. All that overtime, unions, short weeks will go away.
I was an HR Manager that hired nurses. I found most of them to be rude to everyone but their patients, to whine constantly, the not be part of a team, just royal pains.

My aunt has been going to school to be a nurse for such a long time, and yesterday she finally graduated! She always knows the answer to any health questions I ask her. She is so good at what she does, I am so proud of her! Plus yesterday her accomplishment so to speak got us all treated to Longhorns by my Mema and that was just too good! My aunt is finally a nurse. Oh, and my Mema is a retired nurse. My other aunt and uncle are doctors. Ive got a bunch of health people in the family.

uh....showing my prejudice here... it's hard to find a good female nurse that isn't overly gooey sympathetic or know-it-all pushy. Well, that is my experience, mostly not as a patient but with nurse aquaintances. Is it too much of an unfavorable generalization?

They are beautiful people who sacrifice their backs over a lifetime of service in the care of God's children, both young and old, and receive very little recompense.
