It was lost in Congress when the Democrats voted to cut the capitalist South Vietnamese regime off from aid. It turns out that the farming south of vietnam was no match for the industrial north [kinda like in America's civil war, eh?]

Persistence is the mother of sacrifice. The trouble is it's always someone else who is doing the sacrificing. You don't see little Lord Bush "leading" his troops like Leonidas at Thermopylae do you?
And if Cheney were to try he would wind up shooting his own troops.
