Sounds a lot like the stupid Harry Potter questions that you find here. Aren't you tired of the same questions asked by different people twenty times in a row about HP? You would think that the people who post questions on this site would have the wherewithal to read some of the answers before they posted inane questions, wouldn't you?
And in politics, I don't see what the big deal is anyway. All of the politicos who are running for President or any other office are lying to the public anyway. Not one politician in the last 100 years has done what they said they were going to do after they got elected. And the voting situation is a joke and has been ever since they instituted the electoral college. The electoral college was supposed to take whatever the majority of the people said and vote the same way. Instead the people who make up that body, vote the way they want to or however they wish to dupe the public, with no concern for anyone but themselves. In my opinion.

I agree with everything you said. Sadly part of politics isn't picking the best person but picking the lesser of all available evils.
Most Americans are totally un-involved. Good politicians don't naturally come out of the woodwork and appear on their own. If the average American doesn't make their needs, opinions and desires known there will be plenty of carpetbaggers out there to take advantage of the situation.
Right now even the most mediocre candidate can get into office with enough money and a small core of dedicate follows.
Many elections don't even attract 50% of all eledgable voters and we end up the officials that recieved support from 25% or less of the public. If people don't vote or get involved we end up the leaders we deserve, at least in theroy they work for us it time we make them accoutable.

*raises hand* Yeah, it's like putting xmas stuff out in stores in August. You're completely OVER it by the time the holiday arrives.
I'm also tired of election after election where there is no decent candidate and voting ends up being to keep someone out of office rather than put a "good" person in.

Amen. But rest assured this is just an election for a figurehead. Big business is pulling all the strings.
Why not vote in another good actor like Ronald Reagen who can really play the part? Why these potential figure heads who are so unlikeable, shrill, humorless, and amateur?

Wouldn't it be cool to get some biometrics on all the candidates, as they answer questions? Like eye movements, heartbeat, skin conductivity, etc? It could be combined with the graphs they overlay as people's opinion change for each one as they talk.
It would probably show up as an inverse to popularity/agreement. The more they would lie (ALL of them), the more people would tend to like them. Yes, even Ron Paul. he has a slim chance of lying, but hey, if we have the technology, and it improves ratings, as well as improve our understanding of them, by all means, do it.

Yes I am... I am hoping for McCain though he has done a good job for Arizona. He helped my husband who is a disabled veteran when he was having trouble with his vocational rehab paperwork (the VA kept losing it even though we had a confirmation they recieved it).
