It's amazing how so many people are saying the Yankees are only back in the race because of the schedule. Last time I checked, Boston played the Devil Rays, Royals, and Blue Jays the same amount of games as the Yankees. Also, if the Yankees hadn't beaten these teams, all we would hear is how the Yankees suck and can't beat anybody. Boston should be worried and New York needs to sustain their level of play. These 6 games will be exciting to watch and I'll definitely be rooting for the Yankees to win the series and go on to 27.

what is that coming up behind boston?... I am pretty sure it is the Atlantic Ocean. Remember how you haven't played any MLB teams since the allstar break, and The Sox have played teams like Cleveland and Detroit, and LA Angels. Maybe when we finally do get the the series in the Bronx, we can kill your beliefs. I don't think boston should be worried, because the Yankees have NO pitching, how are they going to go anywhere but down. There are in a winning streak now, they are playing WAY above where they should be, and they are beating bad teams. The Yankees have nowhere to go but down, as they aren't going to get any better then they are now, which puts them like 5-6 games behind a tie for first place. The Red Sox however are not playing up to their abilities, and still winning games here and there. Their big bats are just waking up, and their pitching has been off and on in the past few weeks. They have nowhere to go but up, they can't get any worse, so I see that when the games start to count, the red sox will improve, and the Yankees will start to decline. Another interesting note is that the Red Sox have players that thrive in the clutch. ex.. Curt Schilling ONLY pitches consistantly good, when the games mean something, and Dice-K although he hasn't been in the league long, if you watch him pitch, he too is only consistant in big games, in other games, he pitches good, but them loses focus, and loads the bases, but he does usually regain the focus and get out of the jam. Also, Beckett, has been their ace all season, and when you have those three as your first three starters, then you can go to Wakefield to mess some people up, he is the wins leader among active red sox, and the young gun Lester who would only have to pitch if needed, then got yourself a sweet pitching lineup. Add in MR. CLUTCH david ortiz, and that manny ramirez guy, and I don't think I could worry at all.

What is that coming up behind New York??? Oh, a real schedule maybe?? Against upper quality teams maybe? Ya, talk to me in a month. Red Sox fans are not worried these days, like in the past. You want to know why? We have pitching finally. Yes, pitching, which can shut down quality hitting. I can't wait to play head to head. You are winning, but your pitching is STILL giving up lots of runs against team that are not known for their offensive power. Good Luck
Additional details: Actually DK you are wrong. Check out the stats bub! Here are the games.
Red Sox Yankees
Devil Rays 6 13
Blue Jays 12 11
Orioles 8 10
Royals 6 7 (and 3 more to go)
Even though I do not consider the Blue Jays easy it adds up this way. Yankees have 41 vs the Sox 32. I would say a 9 game difference is pretty huge if you ask me.

Every playoff team should be concerned if the Yankees get to the playoffs. If the Yankees finish behind the Red Sox in the division they still have a good chance to get there as a wild card.

Be careful. Boston can beat anyone on pitching right now. Yanks are hitting like crazy but they aren't going to win a lot of 21-12 games in the playoffs.

Oh there you are bandwagon Yankee fans. I was thinking you might not come out this year, but now that you team is playing well your back. I actually feel bad for the real Yankee fans that actually know something about the game because it must be annoying the way all the bandwagon fans are suddenly jumping back on.

Exactly six more times! Look at the records of the teams the yanks have faced since the All-Star break! They are all sub .500 teams! WOW they are amazing beating up the worst teams in baseball! Start watching on Aug 20-Aug 30 see how many game they are out on Aug 20th then again check on Aug 30th! If the Yanks are as good as all you people like to claim then they should be in 1st but I will bet they will be 7-10 games out on the 30th!
