A lot of dictionaries online have this feature, but all the ones I've seen want you to become a member (spend $$$) to get access. Is there a free one somewhere?

Every once in a while I just don't know how to pronounce something.

Merriam Webster's online dictionary offers this service for free. It is an American dictionary, so the pronunciations will be in the "standard" American accent.

The dictionary at the site below has a written pronunciation of each word, but also has a "Hear It" button to let you hear the spoken work. Enter a word in the bar at the main page, and, when the word and definition come up, click the button.
