I'm seeing on NFL.com that Jamarcus Russell Raiders number 1 pick is holding out and wants 40 million in guaranteed money, which in my opinion is too much for a rookie. Also the Raiders have started to take action like there is this one thing for when they sign him. Like if he doesn't sign in a certain amount of days and weeks he loses 1 million of his contract and guaranteed money. Do you think Raiders are taking right action of greedy Jamarcus Russell?

Although 90% of him holding out is probably due to his agents advising, he needs to put his foot down a sign a damn contract. Like Zinger said, he has a strong arm and a weak mind. He is making LSU look bad.

He is going to play in Oakland. I would ask for $100 million. He is the first pick so he can ask for as much as he wants. If the league wants to do something about if, they can do what the NBA does and set a standard rookie contract. They need Jamarcus more than he needs them.

I think it unfair for you to consider Jamarcus Russell greedy bc you well know football is a violent sport and you don't know what play is going to be your last. For example, Joe Theismann when Lawerence Taylor broke his leg like a twig.

Not Really,

Oakland has always had a problem paying signing bonus's.

Considering how bad Oakland is, Russel will probally lead the league in being sacked this year.

How can you blame him for wanting money up front.

This could be his last year playing football if he gets hurt, due to Oaklands line being so bad.

Jamarcus is really doing himself a disservice. He needs to sign and get into camp before it is too late. Is he too greedy? You bet. Of course he was never known for being too smart upstairs.

i think his agent has made him greedy. 40 million is too much for a big rookie with a strong arm. He needs to take what he can get

Al will Refuse to admit he made a mistake on Russell, so i would imagine he will be forced on whoever the head coach is there. Much like Marinovich Was forced on Coaches.

I think Russell realizes he's going to be a bust and wants to get every dollar he can before he signs.
