Our basement just flooded a few weeks ago and my french horn case got soaked. We tryed drying it but we had so much other stuff to do (like pull up carpet) that we didnt get to it in time. I know that you can get the mold off. But how? wats the best solution and how should i do it?

Pour chocolate sauce over the moldy area, and let it sit for 4-6 hours. Then lick it off. Mmmmm....tasty.

Did the inside of the case get soaked as well? You don't want to use bleach on any colored velvet lining. A bleach solution will work on the outside. If the inside needs cleaning, start by placing outside in the sun for a few hours. Sunlight and drying it out completely is your first step. Then wash it thoroughly with a cleaning solution and let it dry out in the sun again until it is completely dry. This should kill the mold and get rid of any moldy smell.

The best way to rid mold / mildew from materials & fabrics is to expose the item to the sun . The sun will kill the midew / mold Once you have this done wipe with clear water and again leave to dry in the sun. For washable farics , if the stain remains, then expose to the sun and add lemon juice again expose to the sun. For fabrics of dry-clean only expose to the sun and lemon juice and salt then wipe with & sponge clear water

Get a spray bottle, put half bleach and half water. Spray it down lightly. Let it sit in the sun some. Keep doing that until the mold is gone.

Bleach kills mold- but I'm not sure you want to use it on your case.

Good luck, whatever you try!
