Because you are 47 and she is 18. There is no way you can really get anyone to believe that you love her the right way, and not because she is 18. When you really sit down and evaluate your so called relationship can you really say a girl young enough to be not only your daughter but young enough to be your granddaughter is the appropriate match for you. IT IS A LIE! LIE! LIE! You are using in your case this child to live out a fantasy, you my sick fellow think because she is 18 it is OK to use her its not. If I were her parents I would HATE YOU TOO AND FIND A WAY TO GET RID OF YOU. She is not learning to be young and live her life instead you have put her in a situation where she is in conflict with her parents (HOW WOULD YOU LIKE THE THOUGHT OF SOME OLD A-- 47 YEAR OLD DIRTY MAN HAVING SEX WITH YOU 18 YEAR OLD. You at 47 need to grow up or you seed some serious help if you think this is healthy...

Dude, you had to know what kind of reaction that you were going to get by asking a question like this. People on here are even taking this as offensive, so why shouldn't the parents? Now I personally do not believe that this question is authentic. However I will tell you this. Regardless of the maturity level of either person, I would go to any extent to keep my 18 year old daughter from a 47 year old man and believe me, I would win.

What parent would want their 18 year old child dating someone who could be their parent. Your 29 years older than she is for christ sake. Generally the age difference is not a big deal, but when it comes to an 18 year old there are issues.
If the shoe was on the other foot you would feel the same way. If she was 28 and your were 57 things would be different. She just a girl right out of high school.

I am sorry but there is no way that there is that much in common between you two with that much age difference... think I am wrong? there is one way to always tell

So your difference is 29 years, would you date someone 76 years old?? If not then you should reconsider your choice!

The main reason is because she is 18 albeit she it an adult however not by much...The difference in age i cant say too much about there are 20 years between my Boyfriend and I however i am in my mid twenties. If you really like her for her and not her body and you rnot trying to be a perv let things die down till she gets a little older and it looks less like your using her more like you really like her.

Because it looks bad. What are you doing with someone that young? When I was 21 I got involved with my now ex who was 46 when we met. You are dating someone's baby. Do you realize how old you were when she was born? 29, almost 30. Do you realize that she wasn't legal a year ago? You are a man who has gone through life and you know what you want and what your beliefs are. She is someone who is just now going through life and learning that. She's young and have so much to live and do, can you handle that? I doubt she is someone who will want to hand out with your friends or stay at home.

I think you already know the answer, you are old enough to be her father and that is why her parents will never accept you. But if you are both truely in love, dont let age stop you. Just remember when you are 70 she will only be 41 and may want to be with someone younger.

It is a lovely situation. Recently a movie on the same them has been made in India called "Cheeni kam". Get a DVD of this movie with English sub titles and enjoy. This movie has same age difference but here the ages are 65 and 35 respectively.
