It came to my notice that in a test whach i gave recently majority of students performed a similar mistake .?

How is that possible? Is it that th students of particular age group think the same way?

Maybe it was the way in which the question was written.

maybe their right and the test is wrong

maybe it was a fluke, lots of possibilities

I think this question is hard to answer without knowing what the mistake was, what the test (or question?) was about, or how well you prepared the students on the material they made the mistake on....need more details please!

And yes, it's possible the mistake could have something to do with the fact that they are all similar in age, but it could have to do with many other factors as well...without more info. here there's no way for us to tell you!

Of course it is possible, and there are many explanations.

One, the teacher misspoke in class and they all heard it. Not likely.

Two, they all used the same book to get the wrong answer. Not likely.

Three, they all shared the same notes to study with, and the notes had it wrong, fairly likely.

Four, you might be wrong, and they might be right. Possible, likelihood impossible to determine.
