Its very simple. Check out the better business bureau (www.bbb.org) to find reports on several agencies. It also depends on where you live as well. Do you live in a place like Toronto or LA where getting into acting is really common? Are you willing to drive to these cities in order to do this? Is this really your passion? Ask yourself these questions. Then go on the website I just gave you and find a place near you. Contact them and on the better business bureau website, they will give you a list of questions to ask the agency. Be sure to ask them and good luck in everything you do!

If you have actor friends, ask them.
In some cities the information is listed in the entertainment section when extras are needed.

Call the Mayor's Office, and ask if they have a Commission on Film and Television.

If so, that department should be able to give you the information about extras.

All you have to do is get with some kind of service or go to craigslist.com they always have castings for extras. Most of the time you just have to send in your picture and resume but sometimes they will ask you to come somewhere to sign up. For my first extra in a film I had to go out of town to sign up.
