Hi, I wonder if anybody can help, I will be making a wedding cake for a relative who is getting married in germany, we want to drive the cake over with us in our car, are there any customs restrictions or regulations I need to be aware of?, or any other problems that may be encountered?,
Thanks

No - we're all part of the EU so there are no restrictions. Only problem I guess is the danger that it will be squashed/ suffer from heat in the car

Keep an eye on the restrictions round the Foot and mouth disease.
As far as I know there are no restrictions on bringing dairy products yet, but last time it was forbidden to transport any cream and milk, which might influence what you can use for the cake.

If is a very nice thing to bring a wedding cake, when my brother married his wife's family also brought a home made cake, had to be transported 1600 km (1000 mile) and arrived in perfect conditions.

Try to fix it in the box you use for transport, or if you bring it over before decorating, use the cake pans for transport.
We often take an apple pie on an international travel, in the pan it is baked in.
