Take him for a romantic meal after building it up for a few days, telling him you have something important to ask him.
When the atmosphere is warm and intimate take his hand over the table and look deep into his eyes. Then say in the most glottal voice you can produce so it sounds very deep and masculine,

Groundhog day, then your boyfriend might get mad and kill a ground hog, in which case the groundhog will not have a chance to see its shadow, or not see its shadow, therefore extending the winter by default, which in turn makes everyone in america unhappy. therefore, when you avoid dumping your boyfriend on Groundhog day, you're not just doing it for yourself, you're doing it for you country. When it's your Boyfriend's Birthday sleep with his brother, than make your own card saying something to embarrass him like "How could you make me pregnant?" and than kicking his crotch area.
P.S. Make sure all his friends are there. Than they will see what a horrible person he is.
