Considering there are almost a billion Hindus today, its a safe bet to say there will still be plenty in 2020 or even 2100. "A lot" can be fairly subjective. If the elders see two young people in a small community leave Hinduism they may call that "a lot." Also, the simple fact is that every generation complains about the failure of the next generation. Literally, they've been doing it since the invention of writing. Culture is changing in India. I'm guessing that a lot of caste rules are no longer being followed by many (and I don't believe the government even recognises castes anymore), but just because people aren't following old rules doesn't mean they are abandoning their gods and their beliefs. Honestly, the idea that religions are supposed to remain stagnant and unchanging creeps the hell out of me. How is a religion supposed to address my life if its based on an out-of-date culture?

It is for power and the gullible public are fooled into thinkng that the Nehru family cares for the Indian public. Vote bank politics to get the Muslim votes and the so called secular votes is played by every party.
