If you feel like the Catholic church is not the right thing for you, then maybe you could go to a few different churches and see if you find one that has the atmosphere you are looking for. You can go to those other churches without converting first. Just go check out other churches. There is a world of difference between the ceremonies. Some churhces offer seriousness, others fun or family spirit.

Why is this "family feel" so important to you when, it seems, most of your family is staying home from Church anyway?
The fact that you are there, and the rest of your familly is not, is the reason you lack this "family feel".
Be that shining beacon of good example to the rest of your family. Attend mass on a weekly basis from now on. Hopefully, in time, the rest of your family will follow.
You can become more involved in the Church than simply attending mass. How about taking active part in the mass. of course, anyone who attends mass is an active participant, but I am talking about that to another level.
How about becoming a lector? Read and proclaim the Scriptures to the rest of the congregation at mass. Become an extra-ordinary minister and dispense the Eucharist at mass.
Have a good singing voice? If your parish has a choir, why not join in?
Chances are your parish has prayer meeting, bible studies, social gatherings, charitable efforts, etc. There are many groups within the parish you can join in an effort to become a more active Catholic.
And, if your parish seems to be lacking in such things, why not talk to the priest and maybe spearhead an effort to start a spiritual/charitable group within the parish?
Do this and you will discover that, in addition to your biological family, you are a member of a much larger spiritual family as well.

The factor is as soon as your baptized it is for lifestyles, there's no such factor as being rebaptized due to the fact in keeping with Scripture you'll be able to simplest be baptized as soon as. In a Catholic orphanage the orphans they are going to obtain schooling within the Catholic religion. But whether or not they make a decision to stay in that religion is their alternative. The more thing is that if your a Catholic you could appreciate that there's no such factor as an undesirable baby. If a pregnant unmarried mom comes to a decision to stop her baby she had performed so for the improvement of the baby. In all adoptions the baby is bought within the care in their newly followed father and mother. And the motive why kids who don't seem to be followed are living in poverty is due to the fact of the loss of charity which the orphanage does now not obtain from others. They make do with what they've a bigger option as opposed to a baby being aborted. And sure they obtain love at orphanages, there's no fee cash can purchase love and there are persons who volunteer their time serving to those kids. I take it you not ever been to a Catholic orphanage?

Kianna, I am Catholic as well. There is absolutely involvement in Catholic Churches, you just have to find the right one. I go to a very warm church with many friendly people and it literally feels like a family. Pick up a bulletin, next time you go to mass and find out how you can actually get more involved . I wouldn't forsake my Catholic faith for anything, warts and all ! God bless and good luck in your journey.

Hope this helps. Unfortunately, they don't keep the first one up to date. (Don't know why.) Just click on the state that you live in and go to one. I know you will be able to find a friendly church that will be more than happy to tell you about the Word of God. The second link may be better than the first.

You don't have to BE any religion. Try being just "spiritual" and find like minded people. Try different churchs if you want that "family feel", but you don't have to be titled any religion to be close to God.
