Since the "cleaner" in essence is designed to remove Patina or oxidation; I can't see that it could be harmful to any metal. Obviously there are many marketed specifically; and in part that's Capitalism fast at work.

Certainlt too there are metals, (precious) that don't effect those things (oxidation/patina) hence don't strictly need a chemical substance.

all most any metal can be polished with brass polish. I wouldn't polish fine silver with it unless it says it's ok on the label. Alluminum, stainless, bronze, etc no problem.
