God is Love and He is experienced through His creation. If you are able to see Human beings in the eyes of God it will be possible to love them and consequently love God.However much people may seem deprived of virtue,, God is pleased when we love them.

First of all, God made people in his own likeness. Loving God is loving people and vice versa.

God makes it possible for us by guiding us into it himself, by his Holy Spirit. This is what Christians believe and experience. If you get closer to God and start loving him, he will help you to love other people.

To much love for gods and up with killing people. The middle east is a great example.
Atheist do not kill for their beliefs like many religions do.
