House but the mortgage is painfully expensive

I live in an apartment. I've been here for 3 years. It was really nice and peaceful for the first 2, BUT NOW, the neighbors are annoying! Their loud, have no respect for the rest of us. The kids are constantly in and out slamming the door. Don't let me get started with those above me. We're now saving for a home. If you're trying to make a decision I would say base it on your own personality and tolerance. These were some nice apartments, gated community, tucked away at the deep end of a neighborhood. I guess word got out! Good luck!

Not sure what the question actually is but I have lived in both. When I first moved to the city I lived in a hostel and then later moved into flats and now I live in a house. A house gives you a lot more freedom and space, especially when you are sharing that space with others but if you are living on your own then a flat on a second or third floor with a security entrance is a safer way to go.

Are you asking for advice about which you should choose, or just curious about where people live?
I live in a house and then have a summer cottage up north to get away from hot summers in the south.

A house makes more sense if you are purchasing. Rents are so high for hgouses I would live in an apartment if renting.

if you are alone and college age, go for apartment, a house kind of makes you feel lonely if you are alone, an apartment still has the feel of other people being in the building

House, with neighbors far enough away, that they don't annoy you.
