Volunteer, join clubs, get involved with your community. If you are housebound sometimes, look up senior chat sites, there are some and there you will find like-minded people. But I believe getting out when possible and chatting with people face to face is healthier, if you have a choice.

It' great you still have some "get up and go" left in you. There are plenty of resources available for you. Some have already been mentioned. Try these: The American Red Cross, your local food bank, a homeless shelter. You could also look online and post your own profile page such as Yahoo 360. You can meet a lot of people like that, but be careful, there are some quirks out there.
Have a sunny day!

If you can get a part time job, or a volunteer job. This will give you the social interaction that you need.

Try volunteering at the local elementary school! They are always looking for help, especially from loving people like you, and the children are always very entertaining! You could be a mentor!
