"The U.S. invasion of Iraq was not preemption; it was ... an avaricious, premeditated, unprovoked war against a foe who posed no immediate threat but whose defeat did offer economic advantages."
Michael Scheuer, the CIA's senior expert on al-Qaeda until he quit in disgust with the Bush administration.
Can you argue with this?

Sure, the CIA is full of experts like the one you quote. Hey, aren't these the people who originally assured us that the WMDs existed? Aren't these the same people who stood by and did nothing during the Clinton Administration? Aren't these the folks who gave us Aldrich Ames? Wait a minute, wasn't it CIA honcho James Angleton who saw a Commie behind every tree?
Yeah, why would anyone want to argue with a CIA Agent? Besides, I though you libs hated the CIA. Must be you only hate them when they disagree with your goofy outlook on things.

I don’t think we need the words of a CIA agent to point out the obvious.

Gary Sheffield accused Joe Torre of being racist a year after he stopped playing for the Yankees. That must make it true.

Yes, he is wrong. He is entitled to his opinion. Many people in the CIA are left wing liberal loonies. They cannot be weeded out until they make some outrageous political statements. Then they quit or get dumped.
All of Congress and everyone in the Bush Administration argued and debated the matter for years before the invasion. The matter was debated in the UN. So how can most of the world be wrong and one person correct? I don't think so.

The only argument I have is you should show a source link to your quote.
If you want a truly surprising bit of info, take a look at ALL of Bush's staff defections, resignations, etc over the last 6 years. He has had literally HUNDREDS of friends, people he's known all his life, etc, walk away in disgust for his assaults on both foreign nations AND domestic liberties.

So the liberals suddenly love the CIA now. What a turn of events.
The guy you quote was head of the Bin Laden section during the Clinton years. ( you know--- the period of time when Bin Laden was blowing up our embassies, ships and planning 911. LOL!!!) I think that says it all.

I don't recall any argument from liberals either. There was just one "no" vote in the Senate, remember?
