This is posted in philosophy but I suspect you would just like to feel good about yourself. In other words, have the illusion or feeling of having a purpose.

If just having a feeling is good for you, try this psychological trick:

> Do something surprising and praise worthy such as volunteer at a homeless shelter or run a food drive.
> Freely praise yourself and imagine the praise of others. Bask in that praise.
> Soon, your mind will connect praise to self worth (self esteem) and then connect self worth to having a meaning.

Other psychological tricks are
>keep busy so you won't think about such deep thoughts
>focus only on happy thoughts.

Real meaning and purpose presuppose a Creator/God.

Here it is in a nutshell...(and humans are all nuts, so you'll feel right at home in a shell)
You go to work...to get the money...to buy the food...to get the strength...to go to work...to get the money...to buy the food...to get the strength...to go to work...
...and so on and so on and so on until you finally drop dead...
In between the major parts of that statement of meaning...
You create your "own" meaning (if you insist on having one)
There is no built-in meaning to live other than to survive and reproduce and protect your children long enough that they can do the same...

(but it's much easier to realize that unless you "create" a meaning for yourself...there is none...)

For me...the meaning of life is to play rippin' electric guitar as much as I can in a rock band to deeply disturb parents from all walks of life all over the world, eat pizza, drink beer, smoke, have sex with women, watch NFL football on Sundays, and "rinse & repeat...

Got it?

Good...

... an excuse to exchange inspiring quotations? Here's one: "See everywhere the struggle and the squeeze; and everlastingly the problem how to make them less. The anarchists, nihilists, and free-lovers; the free-silverites, socialists, and single-tax men; the free-traders and civil-service reformers; the prohibitionists and anti-vivisectionists; the radical darwinians with their idea of the suppression of the weak, -- these and all the conservative sentiments of society arrayed against them, are simply deciding through actual experiment by what sort of conduct the maximum amount of good can be gained and kept in this world."

Sometimes it's just watching it from the sideline. Like a sport's fan, not playing the game, but watching it and being part of the crowd. You get to cheer the players if you are not one of them. And if you are one, you cheer other players. I guess the meaning is just to be with other people, support each other, and cheer up.

Life does have answers, and I know most of them. But the devil of the thing is that my answers -- or anyone else's for that matter -- will lose meaning in the telling. You have to find the answers yourself, or else they are just so much gibberish.

love ,learn from mistakes, enjoy the ride. people treat life like it owes them something, life owes you nothing. enjoy it do not wish it away you, do not live in the past learn from it ,do not wish it away because it will be gone before you have time to enjoy it.
the bad thing is human nature makes you want more (the grass is greener syndrome) well you only truly appreciate what you had when it gone so your best bet is to be thankful for what you have.
