I'm involved in education but have been considering getting a law degree with an education background. Anyone know anything about the types jobs educational lawyers have?

They work for firms that school districts use to represent them when they get sued by parents or students. Lots of legal issues come up with schools, like is a student being serviced like he should due to his disabilities, etc. CA has a whole Ed. Code of laws; somebody's got to know them well.

some represent school districts. there's also a big group that represnt parents of handicapped kids who are unhappy with the education the public schools provide
