I have an offer accepted on a flat (UK). I have my mortgage offer, but my solicitor has not received any documents frm the vendor's solicitor. The vendor's solicitor and the estate agent are saying that they haven't received the title deeds from Northern Rock yet. It has been 5 weeks now. How long should this take - as i am getting worried that the sale won't go through. The vendor is a propoerty developer, but the flat is empty and the tenants have moved out. any advice or similar experiences?

This depends entirely on the back up at the title company. You can bypass the Solicitor and vendor and call the title company directly and ask about the hold up. At least you know you will be getting an unalterated answer. good luck
