Hi.
I Have An AsRock 775Dual-VSTA Motherboard.
And I Know, That This Chipset Can Only Take SATA.

But If I Brought A SATA2 Hardrive And Installed It, How Would It Act?

Would It Just Be Limited To 1.5GB Transfer Rate, Instead Of Its 3GB?

Or Would My Chipset 'Discard' It ?

Cheers!

Your mobo has two IDE ports and 2 SATA ports. If you plug in a SATA ll drive, it will work at SATA speed of 1.5 GB/s

it would treat it as sata 1, same as memory goes to lower speed or udma speeds on ata drives

it should support all transfer rates.
