". . . is not being afraid enough."?

Oh, wait. That's not right, is it?

Here it is: "The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself."

Whew! Churchill was kind of goofy, wasn't he? They'd toss his loony @ss into Gitmo for talking like that, these days.

I'll bet you all think H.W. Bush said, "Read my lips", don't you?

How could they put FDR in Gitmo, anyway? Gitmo isn't wheelchair accessible.

Sage, are you saying Roosevelt didn't have an education?

Roosevelt gave a very nice speech about "our finest hour". You don't remember it? It was about America's involvement in the Six Day War between California and Delaware.

I like you Sage. You're sweet and kind. Will you be my friend?

Asshat, what is a "moran"? Isn't that the last name of the actress who played Richie's sister, on "Happy Days"?

That's it for you, Tribune. You're outta here. JFK said, "The wheels on the bus go 'round and 'round, 'round and 'round, 'round and 'round . . ."

I cried when he said that.

Good Lord!
Churchill did not say that.
It was said by J.F.Kennedy in his State of the Union address.
The correct quotation is :-
"THE ONLY THING WE HAVE TO FEAR IS , FEAR ITSELF."
He also added : ' let us not fear to negotiate nor negotiate out of fear'.
May Churchill's soul rest in peace! Amen!!

FDR said that (not Churchill) in his first Inaugural Address.
Franklin D. Roosevelt had campaigned against Herbert Hoover in the 1932 presidential election by saying as little as possible about what he might do if elected. Through even the closest working relationships, none of the president-elect’s most intimate associates felt they knew him well, with the exception perhaps of his wife, Eleanor. The affable, witty Roosevelt used his great personal charm to keep most people at a distance. In campaign speeches, he favored a buoyant, optimistic, gently paternal tone spiced with humor. But his first inaugural address took on an unusually solemn, religious quality. And for good reason—by 1933 the depression had reached its depth. Roosevelt’s first inaugural address outlined in broad terms how he hoped to govern and reminded Americans that the nation’s “common difficulties” concerned “only material things.”

Churchill produced many great quotes but that was not one of them. He made a few terrible mistakes in his time but he inspired the British people during a very difficult period and was certainly the man for the moment. His faults should be forgiven and he should be remembered with great respect.

The only thing Churchill feared was Adolph Hitler, starting in the early 1930's. Idiots didn't listen to him until millions had died.

NOT THE ONLY THING WE HAVE TO FEAR IS FEAR ITSELF.

JUST A LITTLE MIX UP THERE.
