Actually, the NY Times, the Generals, and the people on the ground are saying the Surge is working.

Democrats who dont benefit politically when we win in Iraq are trying to claim its failing.

How does it feel to have taken a position where you only benefit if our troops fail and die?

"Working" gets redefined as needed to justify their position.

Currently, "working" is defined has having reduced the death-toll for US troops monthly from 90+ per month to 75 -- and to have only lost 190K weapons -- and to have reduced violence in some of the outlying areas because we (the US) have armed the Sunni insurgents there -- which allowed those local militias to gain control over those regions.

But I keep hearing that we cannot know if things are really "working" until September, when Gen. Petraeus delivers his report. So, anyone who says it's working now obviously missed the White House memo that we have to wait until at least September.
