For the male of the Species, the first ego boosts is when a young man addresses him as, "Sir".

The first major deflation is when a young lady does the same thing.

Does something like this happen to ladies? Or is it more probable that you're just seen to evolve to the 'Classic' class where in vintage is seen as an attribute.

Missus is substantially better than Mam. And perhaps he was offering the seat to Ogle You, from a better vantage point.

Cheer up! He noticed you didn't he. And proved chivalry is not dead to boot. Lucky Lady!

Sure, the first time a woman is called "M'am" it triggers some rather unpleasant emotions - LOL! I spent 20 years in the south and loved it. One thing I learned, no matter where I live, the expression "M'am" is a sign of respect from someone younger. "Sir" is the same thing - so I quit letting the ego get in the way and accept that it is a respectful salutation and much more acceptable than "Hey, you, old broad!"

Well, the time did come when I stopped getting regular passes from men nearly every time I walked down the street. I did notice that, and there was a bit of a sting; but, then there was a sense of freedom of not being bothered by that anymore; and then, somewhere along the line, who cares a whatever what others think. I wear dress comfortably, wear my hair the same way, goodbye to makeup, hose, and high heels. It's great! I like being a senior!

In Canada the first time someone calls you "mam" and then the first time a nurse, clerk or whatever addresses you as "dear" Its a real ego deflator.

The first time someone asks if you are elgible for the seniors discount, this is often used by empty head 20 year old bimbos trying to put you "in your place". I have heard them ask women who are clearly in their 40's -- meow!!!!!!

I find Canadian women in BC are VERY catty and hostile to any other woman. People in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta, arent. not until you get to Ontario, do you find the same cattiness. Sad for them to all be so insecure.
