Ok, so I found out I'm having twin girls. Yay! My husband and I had already decided on Emily before we found out that our baby girl is going to be our baby girlS, so we're keeping that name. My problem is what to name the other baby. I really like the name Eden, but I'm concerned that it may sound too exotic next to Emily.
I had a friend in college, Jessica, who had a sister name Genevieve. Although Jessica was one of the most talented artists I have ever met, she lived with the opinion that her sister was smarter, prettier, and more talented than she could ever be. I don't want my daughter going through life like that.
So my question is should we name the other girl Eden or go with something a little more conventional like Rebecca?

I like the name Emily. Sounds pretty and dainty. My daughters name is Erin Nicole. Emily and Erin sound good together.

I think you run in to more trouble with twins when their first name doesn't start with the same letter. At least when it starts with the same letter you had to pick two names starting with - in this case E. My best friend is a twin and even though they are 30 they still question why one has the name Kristen and one is Olivia. The thing is Kristen (my bff) thinks Olivia's name is nicer and yet Olivia thinks Kristen has a more modern name. They have both questioned why they could not have had the same first initial. (hope this helps)
Who's to say that Rebecca doesn't sound prtettier than Emily.
I personally like what you chose Emily and Eden. I think it sounds nice together.
other suggestions
Emily and Erica
Emily and Elise
Emily and Elle
Emily and Ella
Emily and Erin
Emily and Elspeth
Emily and Evelyn
Emily and Esther
good luck and hope I haven't added to the confusion

I really like the name Emily but I not a big fan of either Rebecca or Eden!! I don't think you should do another "E" name because people will most likely get them mixed up a lot!! I think Abigail or Katherine would go great with Emily!! Congrats on your twins!!

I don't think Eden sounds too exotic when compared to Emily. If you think it may spark a little jealousy later on in life, you may want to go w/ something more conventional. Maybe Emily and Amber, or something else a little more "common". Hope this helps!!

I like the name Eden however it is a bit more exotic or sophisticated than Emily. If you plan to name one a common name like Emily, you should name the other something common also like Erica or Elizabeth. If you decide to stick with Emily and Eden, you should spell Emily E-m-m-e-l-e-e or E-m-a-l-e-e instead. Emmelee and Eden is not so bad.

I like Eden, and it sounds good with Emily. But maybe something a little more conventional.

Eden is a beautiful name and it sounds good with Emily. Remember you will be saying them together a lot and you want it to sound cute together! Good luck on your twins. Get rest now, you'll need it!
Also, they don't have to be exactly the same, twins like to be individuals too, because they are often treated as a unit. You want them to feel like individuals growing up...

Emily and Emma
Emily and Samantha
Emily and Eden
the only thing with Eden, kids might pick on her calling her the Garden of Eden. I am a schoolbus driver and I hear a lot of kids being picked on for their names, .

Eden is nice, but you are right....their names should be comparable. I don't think it necessarily needs to be on the boring side like Rebecca, but definitely a more conventional name would be best.
I'm sure you know, but Emily means rival.
Emily and Isabel...my God is a vow
Emily and Abigail....father in rejoicing
Emily and Ella....torch, bright light
Emily and Grace...good will
Emily and Cara....good friend

I like Rebecca. Eden makes me think of Edith and other old sounding names!! LOL And with twins, they are going to be sharing enough, so I wouldn't give them names that are too similar or start with the same letter, just so they each can have more of their own identity.
