I copied these pictures directly from the memory stick file because the only option it gives me for uploading the pictures from my camera is all or nothing. On my old pc i was able to view and choose which ones i wanted. Most of my pictures i already have on my mac under the previous system and i dont want them to be uploaded again. I havent had time top go through the previous system to bring them over "neatly" to the new installation! and also how can i change the size so that i can upload to BEBO.

yes but when you import from your camera iPhoto will detect any duplicates and ask you if you wish to import/ignore the duplications, choose ignore and the duplicates will not be imported.

You have at least three questions here:

Q1: Tell me why I get a blank square with a "?".
A1: Probably changed something about the picture using the mouse. Just go to the top menu and click on "Photos" and select "Move to trash". Now just add the photo to the iPhoto library again and see if you can edit it. In the future, keep all your photos in two places: one for messing with the mouse and one for iPhoto. Same thing happens with iTunes or iMovie if you change something about the name or location of files. The only way iPhoto can keep track of photos is if you don't move them away from where iPhoto expects them to be or change the name from what iPhoto thinks they are called.

Q2: Why is "the only option it gives me for uploading the pictures from my camera is all or nothing"?
A2: Use Image Capture to control what you get from a camera, not iPhoto. Open Image capture. Go to Image Capture > Preferences. In the General tab, change the setting to "When a camera is connected, open: Image Capture.app" Now you can use Image Capture to control exactly which images are captured to your hard drive. Another option, if you have images that you don't want to keep is to delete them from the camera before you connect it to your computer.

Q3: How can i change the size so that i can upload to BEBO?
A3: Share > Export... Then enter the pixel numbers as suggested by Bebo.

Have you been messing around the pictures folder in Finder? If you did I recommend you stop doing that, you'll have problems with iPhoto if you do.
Try rebuilding the iPhoto library database.

To resize a photo(s), choose a photo(s) and in the Share menu > Export. A window will pop-up with a choice of where you want to export to and the size of a photo you want to export as.
BTW sounds like you did an Archive and Install. Did you run Software Update after? That might be a reason why iPhoto is wigging out some.

i'm a theist, and have continually been very curious a pair of huge style of religious ideals and philosophies. i do no longer think of that interest is constrained completely to believers. it must be that many atheists even have genuine questions approximately specific religious ideals and practices. considering that this could properly be a communicate board on faith and spirituality, this could properly be a solid place to seek for solutions to such questions, no longer from some chilly encyclopedia, yet from truly practitioners of those religions. additionally, lots of the atheists i understand have frolicked interpreting faith, to the element that they have got examine the Bible, Koran, and particularly some different religious texts, and can debate them particularly skillfully. yet another subset of atheists must be right here to sell atheism, this is their perfect. i think of there are as many motives for being right here, notwithstanding if one is a theist or atheist, as there are contributors in this communicate board.
