Oh boy, that was confusing...
At first, sounded like he wanted someone badly... like he was trying to "prove" himself worthy..
Then it sounded like he ignored his lover, but when she left, he started loving her? Eh... i'm darn confused.
Tricky song.. but like Shah said, lotsa bleeding.. :O

Someone used to hold the torch/ self sarifice a lot for a person.
But that person took that someone for granted.
It's until the person's gone.
Till the presence was noticed.
But it's too late, as only the feeling of missing lingers on & on...
Lesson:
Some ppl tend to pines for those lost only regret what they'be missing.

Maybe the person is hallucinating. Maybe the lover has died but he/ she couldn't forget about the lover. He tried very hard to let it go but just couldn't and still feel her presence.

he tried to please you and thought it was what you wanted but he was wrong. at some time he gave you his heart and at one time it seems you gave him yours .it didn't last and when he noticed it was too late you were gone . so now all he has left of you is in his mind,a memory of what he had.
