String Theory is the principle that instead of all matter and energy being comprised of zero dimensional points, they are instead made of one dimensional strings. However, these strings are smaller than the smallest thing you can possibly imagine. It has a lot of appeal, because scientists since Einstein's general relativity have been trying to unify the fundamental forces. However, String Theory remains purely mathematical and has very little physical testability.

Particle physicists at CERN have been trying to collide Hadrons and possibly produce evidence of Quantum Gravity, but it's still in the early stages.

For know, it's just a very cool idea that should NOT be taken as relevent theory... yet. You never know what those little Hadrons could produce.
