I don't care about what all the haters say. There will always be haters. They've already set in their minds to hate Bonds and it would be a waste of time to change their minds. Bonds, no matter what happened IS the best hitter in MLB before and after the controversies. If you're going to blame someone, blame Bud Selig. And for all those hypocrite fans who boo Bonds because they think he took steroids, well how do you know that none of your players in your teams are taking it too?

People say they don't like him because he's not nice, well at least he's not fake like other people out there.

We just witnessed history here in the Bay Area and we're rejoicing. Other fans in other stadiums can boo all they want. That's their problem, it takes more effort and energy to hate. Too bad.

If you notice bonds haters talk more about Bonds than Bonds fans do. The haters can whine forever and it wont change the fact that bonds is #1 on the homerun list.

I watched it live on my tv in hawaii. My view on Bonds is that he deserves that record and he really worked his *** off to get here. People say that he's tainted the record over the steroid allegations. But there's no proof of him taking steroids, none at all. So until there's evidence he did, I think he's still innocent. I kinda see Bonds like Kobe, they are very missunderstood by people, hated by many, but also supported by many. They've both had problems in their careers, rape allegations and steroids, yet none of them have been proven guilty. Despite the hate and controversy these guys go out and get it done. So getting back to Bonds, I'm happy for the guy and hopefully the pressure has been taken off him so he can now just play baseball without having to worry about records.

I don't care what all the people say who can't judge a person by the content of their character, but judge them only by their ability to hit a little ball. They may never develop any core beliefs or grow into a thinking person and that will truly be a sad thing for humanity.

It takes energy and effort to affect positive change in this world. When was it ever different?

I was at the game tonight, and it was one of the most thrilling moments you can imagine. From the start of the game, in fact, every fan stood up every single time Barry came to bat. It was very, very cool and a night I will never forget. Barry is the most amazing hitter I've ever seen in a lifetime of watching baseball. In fact, most people would not even be able to focus on hitting the ball with the thousands of flashes going off the entire time he's at bat.

I am a huge Dodger fan and as much as i am supposed to hate him, i love barry. he is no doubt up there for one of the greats in the game. even if he has done roids, with all the players that have, not one besides him have ever hit at least even 700 HR's. so that has to show talent on barry's part. i was estatic when i saw him hit it and im happy for him

I'm happy that the watch for the record is over. Now, the Giants and Bonds can go back into the shadows where they belong this season. We'll probably hear about it each time Bonds hits another HR to increase the record, but with the record passed, now we can watch the playoff race and see who the best TEAM is this year in this TEAM sport.

Bonds is a great player; one of the best ever. Henry Aaron is still my HR king until Arod gets the record.

So you only love him because you're too lazy to take the effort and energy to hate? Shame on you for taking the easy way.

If the reaction at Angels Stadium is any indication, Barry Bonds is less popular than the Commissioner of Internal Revenue. 44,000 Red Sox and Angel fans booed in unison when his home run was shown.
