i hear it scurrying in the walls, or somewhere up in the attic, what could it be? its nightime

just a mouse probably. They are harmless and scared of people.

The only reason that a house could be haunted (or as you say infected by ghosts) is if someone died there, or if a cemetery had once been where your house was planted. If you have been hearing this for a while, don't freak out. The paranormal spirits my be mischief makers, possibly dead children. Sometimes these things occur, so don't just blame ghosts. If this continues, then you may want to see if there is anything wrong with your house. Ex: like if rats are getting in, or your electrical system to your house isn't working properly. :) hope i helped!
