Yes. One time, I was heading home and saw an accident that just happened. A girl was lying on the street, her bike was bent and an elderly lady had just hit her with her car and smashed her windshield. The girl was dazed but I told her to stay still and not move. I appointed someone to call 911. I monitored her vitals and tried to keep her calm. I asked the person who was with the girl what happened and gave that information to the EMTs as well as her vitals. I contacted the mother and explained to what happened to her daughter and what hospital she was taken to.
Okay, lastly, I was on an airplane and I was sitting waaay in the back. Out of nowhere over the intercom the flight attendant asked if anyone on board had medical experience and if so to push their call button. I waited a moment thinking surely there is a doctor on this plane. NO one answered. I pushed my light. I was rushed to the front of the plane. I calmly greeting the person, told them who I was etc. I kept track of his vitals and symptoms . I prayed for him (though he didn't know it) and the airline stewardess kept in contact with me and said that the captain wanted me to let him know if we needed an emergency landing. I explained to her that it was indeed a medical emergency with his symptoms and we needed to get him to a hospital asap. I tried to keep him stabilized by positioning him and keeping him relaxed as if nothing was wrong. Shortly after, the pilot requested my presence and said they were going to do an emergency landing and the physician on ground wanted to speak to me from a communication device in the cockpit. So I gave my name and information and told him in medical terms his symptoms, vitals and what I thought was going on. The doctor agreed. We landed, the emergency crew came in and took him (he was a very large man so they couldn't move him due to the space) so they had him stand...right after he passed out. They were able to get him off the plane and I had to write up a medical form for the airlines on what happened. I constantly prayed for that man the entire time (quietly to myself) I do not seek any glory out of it but I just hope that God used me in some way to help someone. I wish I knew what came of him.
Wow, I hadn't thought about that in a while.

I was a Restaurant chef for ten years so this meant fast paced stress dealing with problems with extreme pressures on your time so yes I had to learn to be. It didn't come straight away but after a few years of making mistakes and learning to push yourself through the "freeze" (when you get stressed out and end up freezing up and stressing out). If you didn't get fast and thorough you didn't go far in the industry. I find I flourish in dire situations and am normally one of those who act first in health emergency situations. I have my Senior first Aid certificate.

it depends on the situation, really. If it was severe, something I have never dealt with, I'd probably tweak a little. Although, I don't really know, because I've never really been in an emergency situation.

when you say an emergency situation, do you mean like life-and-death, or like in a game or something? in a life or death situation, i could give someone the himlech or something like that. in a game of tennis, however, i always overthink everything and mess up horribly. so, i guess under EXTREME circumstances, i guess i am.

It's that sort of thing you don't really know before you experience it. I always thought I would panic or freeze when faced with some kind of emergency but to find out that I really cope well with it was quite satisfying. :)

Yes, I tend to see things as they happen without putting much into them.
For example, my tire went out, I noticed a car behind me, so I went to the left instead of right, knowing the car behind me didn't see it in time. The car passed without hitting me, I sort of guessed that car's logic seeing all the smoke from my tire......
I tend to be more logical and precise, the emotion part of life evades me, but that is what great spouses like my wife are for, yes?

Yes. I carry a first aid kit with me.
I also call 911 every month or two when I spot car accidents and other highway problems.

It depends on who is a part of the situation and how severe it is.
