HOW do you handle a know it all?

I just switch to my "Zen Mode" and pretend I'm listening.

I deliberately ask questions or start conversations I know they will know nothing about, like construction, etc....its fun to watch them keep interrupting with something not even related to the topic because they are so put off...this tatic works best with others in a group, because you have a better idea as to what others know about. The know it all usually is forced away.

Depends are they the kind of know it all that ACTUALLY knows it all or are they the kind that just THINKS they know it all?

If its a know it all that actually does know that they are talking about it.. then I don't care I just let them give all the information they feel the need too.

However... if its someone who is dumber than rocks and just likes to act like they know it all then I use facts to shut them up.

Just pretend to listen ... daydream about some thing else...Nod once in awhile..they want to do all the talking anyway...lol

I tell them they have a buggie hanging out their nose... works everytime!

Contradict everything they say with smartass remarks until they get too pissed off to want to be around me anymore.

I pretend to yawn, look around the room ... and fail to make eye contact. They get the hint, eventually. :)
