Self restraint means stopping yourself from doing something.
Hard done by means something unfair has happened to you.
Sundry means various or several.

Self restraint is keeping control of yourself - often the emotions.
Hard done by means that life has dealt you a bad hand, often unfair like when u and ur friend do the same homework and she gets a better mark.
Sundry is various unspecified things, as in "All and sundry" or an item on an expense account - "sundries"
