I have Verizon. The reception is really good, they have nice phones. The only bad part about it is that I have horrible reception on the first floor of my house in certain parts.

Go to Cingular/ATT and have them look up your address to see if there is a tower close enough for you to get decent service. Generally, 1.5 miles is about as far as a signal from a cell tower will go so make sure you are in that radius. If you really want to be thorough, have them check each of the key places where you use your phone. If they don't have sufficient coverage go to Verizon and do the same thing. They will both have the most towers but they are the most expensive also.
Don't ever get your phone wet, not even a little bit...!

Had Nextel at work and learned to despise it. Sometimes got my messages the NEXT day!!!
We have Cingular now and it works well almost everywhere we go, so well, we hardly think about it, really. We have the roll-over minutes which is a god send. Some months we use a lot, other months we only use a few, so it's perfect as you have 12 months to use up the extra minutes fro a month.

Buildings ground out signals to your phone, if that's why you were having problems with T-Mobile, you probably won't find another carrier much better! Some areas are better than others for service. Go to this website below. I know it will help you a lot and explaining this. Look for a link called "best rate guide". That will take you to one of the best sites on the web where you can put in your information about your locale and phone number and they will show you the best rate plans! I'll bet you need an external cell phone antenna like I did. I installed an antenna and amplifier on my house and problem solved! I'm still with T-Mobile! My connectivity problems were not with T-Mobile or my phone, but my location.

AT&T
Best Phones,High Rates,So-so Customer Service. They ok It's just the fact that their service go to their heads and you can sense that vibe when u talk to their customer care. yea and the iphone.
Nextel
Good plans, First to come out with incoming, Nitrous for push to talk. I'd Pick Nextel as a Alternative Service, because now or days Push to talk is becoming a big thing in the world, and other services try to copy it, but Nextel still remains the best.
Sprint
Good Rate, Data Plans that suits your need, good coverage, and Nice phones. I'd honestly like sprint out of all the cdma type carriers because u have access to Wap without any problems, and they don't close their ports. and As well the SERO plan for alot for less.
Verizon
Ok Phones,Best coverage,Most limited out of all. Verizon in my opinion like to cripple their phones alot, in experience of having them, they like to have u pay for everything, such as u can't make your own ring tones, or that u can't send files to no body via bluetooth, and u can't use your phone with your computer. but beyond that, the service is great, and if u don't mind spending your money it's great
Alltel
Honestly it don't really works where i live, but from what i hear its really great and it's good for the My circle.
Us Cellular
Next to best coverage, based in Chicago, awesome plans,
I had us cellular, and they is the best, but they is very similar to verizon as they use their phones and use the Brew Technology. Free incoming on most plans, but data and internet can cost up to 15 dollars a month.
T-mobile
Good phones,Good rates,Good features. I'm currently with t-mobile, they have all those good things hovering as well as the awesome Customer Service. But the coverage is Bad, everywhere i go i ending up getting dropped calls. only time i get good coverage is when i am in the city, other than that in my hometown i got dead canyons.

I have had service with all of the major carriers except All-tel, but I can truly say that Cingular (now AT&T) is the best of them all. Of course, they all have their quirks, but if I had to make a list of pros and cons with each one, AT&T Wireless would win hands down!

I had Sprint for 6 years the reception was great but the trade off for screwing up my bill on a monthly basis and then having to fight each month for them to fix the screw up. Was more than reason to leave them at a dead run.
ATT - I get service everywhere, have had them for over 2 years now. I have screwed up and the kids ran up the text message bill to the tune of $300 of usage, they allowed me to change to unlimted family talk messaging and issued a $300 credit since I changed to cover the usage. They screwed up and added unlimted internet to the wrong line and without an arguement fixed their mistakes with appologies and took care of everything. I had a broken phone on Saturday, was a warranty issue called the warranty department Sunday afternoon. My new phone was here today! Oh yeah they have true unlimted messaging, RO min and the best phones!
