I think it totally rocks! Anytime a long-standing record is broken, it is a good thing. I hope he hits a bunch more and challenges the next guy who comes along.

BLAH BLAH BLAH HE'S A CHEATER

Guess what? You've been watching a sport that has been inhabited by cheaters for 70 years...

God knows how many pitchers were coke fiends in the 80's, but today's sluggers are the ones that people chastise.

Babe Ruth was a drunk who may have had links to amhetamines, but today's sluggers are the "bad guys".

Speaking of amphetamines, a few years ago, a pitcher's death has been linked to ehpedrine usage during practice.

In 1970, a pitcher by the name of Dock Ellis PITCHED A NO-HITTER ON LSD, but Bonds, Sosa, Soriano, etc. are crucified.

Anyone who gets on Bonds' case because of his record and his POSSIBLE involvement with performance enhancers, yet ignores the above information, is a hypocrite.

awesome, barry bonds rocks, and so do the sf giants :)

probably the best batter ever, he now holds the single season and all time record for home runs, both of which wont be broken for a long time.

Maybe they'll stop talking about him. I personally don't care for the guy. I agree with you, Jessica! Did you know they say it won't even be worth what McGuire's homerun ball was. Case closed.

When someones hat size and shoe sizes get bigger after 30 you have to wonder. I would also not forget the purjury ( clear creme) and tax evasion claims.

i think it's awesome. and i love that selig didnt show up because that just proves how much of a joke and a fraud he is and he wants to talk about the integrity of the game? not being there is showing no integrity. even aaron had the balls to pay tribute to bonds. man up selig and grow some balls.
