Stereotyping has its benefits. It allows quick judgement-making based on past experiences. As we know, it's far from a fail-proof system, but it is a very practical one, and there's a reason we stereotype naturally and instinctively.
Of course, often we're wrong. And when we're wrong on big issues, it's news. Particularly in today's rapid-changing world, yesterday's experiences may not apply anymore.
And, of course my point is, the world is going to make a passing judgement on you. Sometimes flattering, sometimes negative, but always inconsequential. You can't get tangled up in what the world thinks of you. You'll be their string puppet for life.
And that is worse than being called a nerd or preppy.

It sounds like you're putting a lot of stock into what jealous people think of you, why? They want to be able to afford to do the same, and want to have the strength to work hard to get good grades. Find the ones that don't label you, regardless of the labels on thier clothes, and you'll find intelligent people and people worth associating with.

Haha you actually made a question on this? We were just talking abut this topic.
But yeah that happens..
Like if you own something from Ambercrombie and Fitch people are like it's a prep! But anyways, I get good grades. And unfortuntately I don't get called a nerd. =]
But I just hate when people do that anyways.

I despite those that label others, and I also HATE judgmentals. I would never ever judge someone based on appearances without ever getting to know their personality. Forget those that aren't bringing you any positivity. They don't live life for you, so why should they matter? Focus on those you love & care about. =) Cheer up, hun. Best wishes.

Nope. I also hate being called a nerd. But when I see somebody who always seem to be wearing Hollister or A&F, I can't help but think they are rich.

Are cheerleaders actually like THAT in real life???? I mean, I thought it was just this common stereotype used in teen movies: "cheerleaders are silly, beautiful and real bittches"
Well, in my school is not like that....
Anyway, of course I dont label people on that!!! Actually it's wrong to label people at all. Dont listen to them, just ignore them, people who do that are stupid, bored and do not deserve REAL people's attention....

I'm like oh gushness wats your problem dumbass labelers
lmao
just wanted to sday that :D
it's ok they just don't know you when they do they'll change there opinion
clothes don't mean anything
and it's not clothes that make you something it's how you act
just like how I would go to wal-mart and they's asume we're cheap with clothing
we don't get clothes there we get food and snacks there
and I love to get little silly string and crazy color spray hair dye
stuff like that
but thats to mess around

If you see ppl wearing J!NX like me, you know they're gamers. If they wear heavily framed glasses wet with tears are eyeliner- they're emo. That's just the way it is. I personally don't like ppl wearing abercrombie because they look bad. Nothing in that store looks good, and nothing is unbranded with their name. I carefully choose what to buy, and later wear- so to me those people look bad. But I know that that's just looks, and besides the Emo example up top- looks only reflect out insides, but reflections never hit 100% truth- they only give you a basic idea of what that person is.

People are just jealous........as long as you are happy with who you are then who cares what other people think! Trust me, once you are out of high school, life is MUCH DIFFERENT and those 'popular' people all of sudden become the nerds so cheer up and enjoy your life!
