Much will depend on his specific job duties and company policy; his continued employment will be at their discretion, what they feel his value to the company is and what state your reside in.
In most states, a 2nd DUI/OWI within 5 years is a felony offense and he may have to serve a minimum jail time (many states it is 10 days). If he has sufficient vacation accumulated, he could request to use vacation days for any time he is required to serve.
Most states have a mandatory suspension period of driving privileges for 60-120 days (and may be more as it the second offense. If his job involves traveling/driving, this will for sure be an issue. If he has a company car, they will likely revoke it.
He will likely be Court ordered into an intensive (expensive) substance abuse rehab program (2-3 hrs a night 3 times a week) for six month or more and attend a minimum number of AA meetings.

I can understand that your husband didn't want to be the bad guy firing people, but he has to understand that he wouldn't have been. They were being bad employees by doing what they were doing to warrant them being fired. You husband has to understand that he was placed in a position of authority that he was getting paid to do. He has to do his job if he wants to keep his job. I wouldn't jump into him because he probably realizes his mistake and is suffering terribly because he lost his job by not doing his job. I know you feel terrible because the bills have to get paid, and it is a stressful situation and probably and stressful time given the economy. Eventually you will have to have the talk about the process of getting the bills paid, then I am sure he will discuss the issue of losing his job.

Sales Manager??? Depends on the specifics of his job. In areas of politics and/or public service (Fire, EMS and/or Police....) such serious charges and subsequent arrests can make grounds for job termination.
However, most companies offer an Employee Assistance Program ( EAP ) that might help, albeit it won't spare him from being suspended or terminated.

If and when they find out and if he lies about it if it comes up then probably. But, if they didn't catch the DUI then he's probably ok. If he drives a company car or something then they'll do a DMV check occasionally to get his driving record.

That is entirely up to the company. The company might fire him, or they might not fire him.
They probably wouldn't care about his DWI convictions unless it affected his ability to get to work each day (license suspension).
