I can't pay attention to one without feeling guilty about the several dozen others. They get jealous because they tell me there problems all the time! They help me get through days I am depressed.

Well, do like I to - tell one to tell the others that "mommy said she loves all of you but can't get to see everyone of you at this time. Give everyone a hug and a kiss from me." They'll understand. Talk to them when they are together. Joke with them. They love jokes. Just make sure they have access to food and water, and they'll be fine.

Dont try and remedie your problems with too many pets or you will feel better for a short period and then feel like you cant give them everything they need. That isnt somthing you want to feel when you are already depressed.
Re evaluate your menagarie and perhaps it would be best to find new loving homes for the pets you dont feel you can look after.
Then you can focus on giving the ones you keep the best lives you can.
good luck :)

Several dozen??? Maybe, you should consider getting rid of all but one or two, and seek some professional help. Surely, what you are spending to feed "several dozen" animals will be enough to hire a good therapist!

If you are depressed, feeling guilty about the life you have carved out for yourself, and you are hoarding animals, you have some psychological issues that need to be addressed first. You could benefit by getting some advice or coaching on how to handle stress in your life and what 'things' are effective in your healing process.
